About Camellia Morris
2024 Archibald Prize Finalist Camellia Morris was born in Singapore and emigrated to Australia with her family at the age of seven.
Spending much of her time drawing from a young age and learning to paint later in life, Camellia developed a love for portraiture. She enjoys meeting and getting to know her subjects, applying her creative process and watching her subjects come to life on canvas.
Growing up and living in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs also inspires Camellia to create paintings that capture the coastal landscape and lifestyle of Sydney’s beaches. Camellia has been a finalist in many major art prizes for both her portrait and beachscape work.
Camellia exhibited in her gallery at Sydney's art precinct, 2 Danks Street, Waterloo from 2015 to 2016. And now shows her work at her studio gallery at Shop 1, 138 Spit Road, Mosman, Sydney.
